Long time lurker first time poster. So long story short I will be passing thru MO and can make it to the shootout Friday afternoon through Sunday. I have never been so had some questions. I just found out today I can make this happen so I have nothing planned or figured out with that said were is good to stay? I know last minute but don't want to call everywhere unless I have to. Rather start with some info. So with all the boats is bar hopping still an option or do the slips get packed? What bars are a must see? Thanks for the help!

a little pricey but nice place plus skaterfest will be held there on saturday night...about 20 miles by water from the course and its close to shady gators and coconuts, two of the larger bars on that end of the lake

Stay at the Inn at Grand Glaize. Right in the middle of all the action.
Bars....
Friday night Dog Days
Saturday Night Dog Days
Sunday day Dog Days
Dog Days is less than a mile by water from the Inn at Grand Glazie.

Are you taking a boat????
If not, I would pay the $$ and go out on the Celebration Cruise boat to watch the races.

Camden on the Lake is nice, has a good nite life, and will be a good time, but pricey. Its a long drive by water and car to the Shootout. About 25 miles by water and probably about the same by land. They may even be 100% booked with Supercatfest there. Grand Glaize Inn is close to Dog Days which is always a good time. About 15 miles by water and probably 30 miles by land to the Shootout. There are lots of other options as well. It just depends on what you want to be close to.

Search vrbo.com and try to find a place on the Osage Beach side of the lake between the 17 and 27mm. Tan Tara Resort at the 26mm may also be a good option for you.
