I raced off road bikes from the age of 12 until my mid thirties and crashed at high speeds got up and went on about my way. 2004 a Sunday afternoon ride with friends a low speed crash 10 to 15 mph almost killed me broken shoulder collar bone almost every rib and punctured lung . Took a good amout of time to get me to the hospital then aircared to another hospital. My family was in the room giving me hell they were going to sell all of my toys. The doctor spoke up does he drive to work? Yes. He takes a bigger chance driving 20 miles to work than he does riding his bikes.
My point SH*t happens. ACCIDENT'S HAPPEN
I go to alot of motor sport events I take full resonsibility for my self friends and family that we are out of harms way.
Let boys be boys and protect yourself. Or just stay home.

I think, the bottom line to all of this was the cause of driver/throttleman error. Anyone who has driven a high performance boat has had an "Oh S***!" moment by their own means or the actions of someone else. The end results... a beautiful boat destroyed and two lucky men still alive! The only perfect person I know is my ex-wife!

wow! glad that turned out ok. Seems to me only a pretty well designed and built boat could transition through that kinda ride and end up on all four feet with everyone safe and sound (along with some luck).

nope . . . you'd be surprised what an open cycle engine can ingest without issue. Water is no prob . . . .

The other thing is the boat has a bustle over the drives and it took a hard shot , maybe got the ball rolling on the hull damage , change the angle of attack a few degrees when the boat stood up and the water pressure/loading climbs dramatically!
