Default 2 Strakes?

At 1:42 of this video it discusses the differences between Eric's Reality and Spirit of Amazon and it says two strakes on Amazon, what does that mean?

Lifting strakes do pretty much exactly what the name implies - they help lift it up in the water at speed. A straight / smooth hull with no lifting strakes tends to ride very low in the water. Although this is great for ride, it stinks for speed. So the number, size and placement of the strakes is a critical design consideration.

Man, that video brought back some memories.

thanks for the reply so the strakes are the long ridges running the length of the sponson?

Correct. Same goes for V-bottoms. And they don't always run full length.

Remember nothing supports load like a horizontal surface , The idea then becomes size , number and placement .
