Exactly, so if I'm buying a turbine boat with no cabin it would damn sure be some kind of CAT.

The setup isn't what turns me off, and the price is great.
It's that it's probably difficult to impossible to insure. Also, after seeing Miss Gieco go up in flames I have little faith in marine turbines. They had unlimited money and maintenance on the boat and look at their outcome.

How strong is the transom with 2 cutouts for drives and 2 massive holes for the exhaust. Is it reinforced or thickier than other Nor Techs?

I could be wrong but I don't think that Marine Turbine had been doing their work for a long time? I think they were doing it in house?

sweet boat! I bet used as a poker run boat or recreational it would last just as long or longer then piston power. Who cares about a cabin. No one who owns these high dollar boats use the cabin anyways. I am sure the boat can also be dialed in better with drive height, gearing, props, etc etc.

Sweet Unique setup, Anyone would be proud to own!

Ive been in the boat and its amazing. There is not a cabin per say but there is a huge area behind/under the dash where you can go and get out of the weather w bench seating.

Its a wave crusher too. It will run faster with a different set up I'm sure. I dont know the props/gear selection but I do know he runs diesel in it.

Biggest attention getter ever at runs!

There's no way I buy a 50' V w/o a cabin I don't care what motors I put in it. But the first owner may have wanted another fuel tank forward to balance out the c/g w/o the cabin and give the boat more range as turbines burn more fuel than piston engines.

I agree with seafordguy...if you want speed with turbines get a cat. This boat really makes no sense.

He meant engines not the company Turbine Marine.

IIRC that was the first time MGR has had an issue of that kind. Salt water ingestion was a problem for awhile but new air filters solved that.

There are many turbine boats running today with little or no problems. Talk to Mike Fusco, Bill Tomlinson, Jules Tremblay etc they will tell you how great turbines are.
