So it looks like i have a crack in my scat crank #2 cyl. Cant been see by eye but.... Can cranks be repaired? also in the market for a gen 4 Chevy bb. Not a good day................

no the crank cant be welded,it will crack rite next to it..as for the block look into a new dart block,,,will be more stabal when adding adding horse power...gm blocks have a tendency to flex throwing everything out of wack..

Put it on my desk for a paperweight but my wife said no way. Turns out the reason for the crack was a wee bit to much air time for a cast crank to take. Was on the phone today Scat and ordered a stronger one. One to the next........................

yes,,they call it cast steel,,soppose to be stronger then regular cast???? i have seen stroked 454/496 with a cast steel crank make over 600 hp..guy is still running around the neighborhood in his 69 z..car really moves!..
