Not doubting you, I'm sure you did read that, but......
It's been analysed by everyone on this thread and without re-reading the whole thing, I think it is in this thread where one of the passengers spoke up and told us about the injuries suffered. I'm sure if a drive had broken, and that could easily cause the accident, those involved would have been climbing over each other to tell us about the broken drive. It's great to lay blame elsewhere if possible and clear your name but as nobody has done so here, I'm still putting it down to human error rather than mechanical failure.
Very unfortunate that people suffered ongoing injuries, hopefully lessons have been learned by all of us who have watched the video.

Can't be bothered searching for it but carefully worded, it still came down to driver error but I think he noted unusual conditions with another boat wake involved. Not quite sure, but there was no suggestion of mechanical failure.

There you go, not quite as conclusive as I remembered, a diplomatic response.

As you ask, I will only mention 1 of the reasons for loss of control, many factors play into but this could have been avoided. The throttle motion used and release of the throttle,(power) cause weight to shift forward, physics allow stern weight and weight from cockpit loaded with passengers to continue forward motion. result is stern wants to pass bow as forward nose has become parasitic to water, exagerated from vessel taking false keel on both sides. sorry for delay but done this while in airport. Safe boating!
