That stuff does still surface. Jupiter, FL has a western corridor (Jupiter Farms, Palm Beach Country Estates) that is all 1 acre+ lots on dirt roads way out west. A few years ago a guy gets out of prison, goes back to his former homestead and starts digging up the back yard. Current homeowner calls the cops, they unearth 200K......not sure how it ended but pretty sure the cops confiscated the buried loot! Cops tore up the whole back yard with a backhoe, money was in foot lockers wrapped in garbage bags.

I had a buddy in the body shop business that was storing a slantnose 911 Turbo for a client that never came back. Car was pretty nice from 50 ft but was getting tired from 20+ years of storage. Upon further inspection it was a fiberglass slantnose kit (not steel like the factory would have done). Guy dropped the car off and never returned......Owner of the body shop just kept it around, never did anything with it. I suspect the "shady" client was probably not the guy you wanted to tell that you "mechanics liened" his car after a week or a month and sold it. 20+ years does seem extreme though.....

I wonder why some problem resolution takes so long?
