Default Anyone in Ft Myers FL area

I received a offer with a company in that area today and have never been there. I am considering moving but have never heard good or bad about it? I will appreciate any and all input.

Thanks

WILL

I LOVE FT. MYERS AREA!!! It's not all commercialized like alot of places...it's not a deserted area or anything but, it's not congested. I wouldn't want to live inland anywhere...it's even hotter!! I'd move there in a heart-beat!!!

No doubt that the "Blues" are running over there ....but it is a great place to boat...and I would think live if on the water or very close to it...anywhere beats Orlando though I hate this place !!

Was there in Feb - bought a lot on the water in Cape Carol which in next to Ft Myers. Great area - not as congested as the east coast. I would make the move!

I use to live on my boat off Captiva, it is a beautiful area! Unlike the Northeast, the channels are well marked down there. There are many, many waterfront Cafe's and restaurants. Services at Marinas are alot less expensive than up north.
The biggest downfall is the area is dependent on tourism, and the jobs generally don't pay that well. Also, like the rest of Florida, the Manatee zones seem to be growing each year.
Good luck!

Thanks for input, keep it coming.

The job is more in consulting, and has nothing to do with tourism. I am 26 so I want a place that is fun and lots of tan girls

I just moved here in Oct. Should have moved here 20 yrs ago!!!!
Great place to live, lots of places to play, but fills up with snowbirds in winter. Prices on property are right and work is plentiful. Beats the east coast and a lot less crowded and stressful. You have questions give me a shout, be glad to help.

My folks have a place In Boardwalk Capers right before you croos bridge to get to beach. My dad has a 28 Baja right out the back door. It is a great place to live and boat. The water is usually pretty calm and clean lots to do. I go down a couple times a year and hang out. I say go for it. You wont be disappointed.
