It's been great, bought my first "performance" boat, the little scarab that could lol and drove the hell outta it. Replaced the carb and the coil, but never left me stranded. After 1 season I'm ready to go a little faster but I think I will do 1 more year with her.

Ha d a bad day at some point since I pulled a plug and saw it melted a few weeks ago, pulled her home and found this...
took 2 eveings to fix her up and been boating since.. glad I am my own mecahnic, saves downtime and money!! http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...g/P8287701.jpg |
Old 88 Baja with original 454 mags and alot of hours.
Put over 50 hours on it this summer. Will use it as long as I can. As long as it's over 80 and the lake is not bad. Only break downs were a starter bendix $24.00 and a bad thermostat $8.00. Neither cost me any time on the water. Just made me limp back at the end of the day on one motor. |

Summer was pretty good overall.... fuel pump went out so I ended up missing a trip because the parts that I had overnighted got there a week later....got that all fixed up and did some minor stuff and it has been running great.
Contemplating ending the season early though so I can start on my rebuild/repower :evilb: |
Turnkey here all I have done is put gas in the tank and changed the oil in the motor and drive every 10 to 15 hrs. Running very strong!!!
