Been lurking for a long time but finally signed up as a member.
We have decided it is time to buy a bigger boat and my wife has agreed to a performance model if I can also find an open bow ( don't kill the messenger, sometimes compromises must be made). I have researched on the Internet and found some 27' opens like Nordic and baja but was would like something 29'+. We boat from our cabin on a very large lake in n. Idaho that is generally always choppy and can see 4 - 5' waves when the wind comes up. I understand an we won't be sitting in the bow during the big waves but will be able to use it other times. What suggestions can you give me? Want something newer, maybe 2007 and up but am opened to all suggestions. Thx.

I had an Eliminator Daytona 26' that had a walk thru bowrider. Boat ran 100+
I now have a 30' Daytona with center cabin & bowrider up front. This boat also does 100+
Wife got bowrider and I got my speed. Only problem is the wifeygoverner cuts in around 70

you can probably find a mid cabin, but a true open bow thats over 25-26 feet long will be tough. But crownline does have a LX or LSX model but I think its only 24feet.
Also check out a formula SUN SPORT. not an open bow, but just check it out, your wife may like it.

Formula makes a 310 open bow along with the new 350 open bow. More day cruisers than performance boats, though.

We have a 35 Nordic mid cabin open bow with twin 496's in our fleet. Cabin has a toilet, sink, fridge and microwave. The kids love riding in the front. Will run 82 mph on the gps. Best of both worlds really.

I spent 3yrs searching out the right bowrider/mid cabin. Hands down, Sunsation was the way to go, for me.
Crownline sells their LPX/SS versions which go upwards of 25ft now. I actually started in a 225 LPX with a 502. If you're going to be bobbing through 4-5ftrs don't waste your time with a traditional commercial builder.
Islanders are nice. Nordic, Velocity, and the other west coast boats are great but it's nice to be able to shut the cabin doors to get out of the elements. And that's why I found myself locked and loaded with Sunsation.
Great handling. Outstanding rigging. Awesome build. Not to mention A+ factory service to even used Sunny owners.
Just my .02
