Default Teague Custom Marine Engine Work

I know Teague is famous for their new complete motors, but how about their work on rebuilding/fixing/updating a motor? Do they do the work themselves, have their own machine shop, do the assembly, etc? Do they have their own dyno for testing? Where they timely with their work or did it take awhile? Any experiences with them would be appreciated.

When it comes to a BBC, we will take on any engine builders product. Both Bob and Norm have been working with high performance marine engines for over 40 years each! We build new Custom Production engines from 825-1500HP. We can rebuild/upgrade any BBC to any specs as needed or create an complete engine/s. We have our own special methods and recipes to create extremely reliable and user friendly HP, all done in house and warranted.

Give us a call and let us know what you have and what you are wanting to do.

Eric I thought Bob told me that If i sent my engines to him that they would turn it into one of your products. Meaning if you have 10 engine products in your line up that mine would become one of those products. Maybe I misunderstood but but the explaination was that you have some proven products and it was better to make one of your products and not try to reinvent the wheel.

I use to do business with them in the past. Back then I don't recall them having a machine shop like GT Performance or Pfaff Engines, and by the way both of the shops I just mentioned actually have dyno's as well. When I was having work done at Teague's shop they didn't have a dyno and I watched them just start the engines on the ground while mounted to a pallet, or they would just run and tune them in the boat. They were able to send the motors to a shop close by and use their dyno if you wanted the sheets. Bob and Norm are good engine builders. Just make sure that if Teague gives you a warranty that you get it in writing.

Nothing but great things to say about the 2 sets of Teague Engines that I have owned. The 1st set were 1100 Quad rotors that Teague built and rigged the boat. The 2nd set are the 1200s w the 5 liter whipples. Both sets have been as turnkey reliable as a set of 500s. Everyone at Teague Custom Marine has been nothing but professional, knowledgable and extremely responsive when you need something.

When I went to Teague I wnted a proven reliable package that I could turn the key and go boating. That is exactly what I got!!!!!

Eric,

Does Teague have their own machine shop, do all of the work in house, do their own assembly? Have their own dyno? One of the replys below indicated motors are tested by starting them on the floor, bolted to a pallet? Any additional info would be helpful. Thanks.

I like the fact that Teague has a constantly evolving engine development program. The company has also been around 40 years. I have had a pair of 800s as well as 1200s. They are turn-key as mentioned previously. Currently re-powering with Teague 1500s.
