Just curious about your steering column..... Never seen one like that. Is it a different system you are building? What does it do differently?
The long steering Column is something we copied from Randy at MTI, and Bob Bulls boat. Our boats no longer have dashboards in its standard configuration. So the steering column can only be supported by the floor. We made some changes to the design, and made it quick release as well.
One gains a ton of room in the cockpit when you remove the dashboard, and that may come in handy if we must get out quickly.
Thanks for the question.

Thanks for the answer! It's great to see you and others building safety improvements into the boats

It REALLY must suck for Ms. Gieco....not really suck, but, you know what I mean. After being able to blow by ANY boat on any track or anywhere for that matter, it must be tough when another boat flys by you and you are WFO....

I don't mean that to be rude, it's just human nature. When you on top, it's tough to be knocked off......

OK, i'll say it. I see cool long boats, a lot of money and bling - no doubt!

But i hear hydroplanes going by and see NO REAL ACTION.

Too bad these people just don't understand/know the feeling of crossing the ocean, no land in sight, and hoping the compass is working - BACARDI STYLE!

And if they do understand this, then WHY not get out there and REALLY race in the open ocean - OFFSHORE RACING!!

Not at all. A reminder of our roots...Nothing like getting smoked to bring you back to earth and re-align your goals. Whats disapointing is after 2 years of running alone it took our boat to be out of the picture to get some turbines (and pistons) back on the course racing consistently . At this point there will be turbines competing at every race for the rest of the year??? hmmm We'll take it as a compliment.

If this is what it takes to get big boats on the course again were up for the challenge.

Honestly, if you can imagine being in our position you can feel the fire inside just thinking about it....the hardening of our determination. As Americans we are driven to keep climbing it's our nature .."the comeback".
It's been two months since our accident were back up and racing and thankful for it. We may be the caboose for the remainder of the year but anyone who knows us knows what were capable of and the new boat will soon be a force to be reckoned with. time..patience and testing.

In the meantime let everyone enjoy some limelight it's good for the sport. When were at full strength again the piston guys cant force us out of their starts and the turbine guys have a serious target on their back.

We'll be pushing hard in 2013

Underestimate us at your peril.
