It is unclear from the Coniston event website how the runs are done, but I suspect it is a two-pass, one in each direction, time-limit-between-passes affair.

Keep in mind that, at least in what I could gather from the release and the supporting websites, Salmon's hydo is not, like the U-11 JW Myers will run, an Unlimited. Hence the seemingly low speed of the record it will attempt to break.

As far as the U-11 Unlimited hydroplane goes, there is no U.K. record to break. So whatever it does, assuming it meets fulfills the requirements of the speed runs, will be a record.

1st run 171.676 2nd run 180.544 Average 176.11

Peters & May was craned in at the same spot where Donald Campbell prepared Bluebird for the Coniston attempts , the last on January 4th 1967 , Somwhat poignant I thought ,
