Not much sympathy for the company here in the upper Chesapeake Bay. In 2009, the owner of the company ran his yacht past a marina at speed and tore up a bunch of boats and docks. When one of the boats gave chase, people on the yacht gave him the finger and sped off. BRP did it's best to hush the whole thing up, and their lawyers paid off the claims only on the provision that the victims would sign a waiver and agree to stay quiet.

Karma's a b!tch, ain't it? :lolhit:

I think more people might buy them if they were not ugly as sin. Every time I see one I wonder what the hell the owner was thinking buying such an ugly boat. Then you look at the Yamaha jet boats, and they look great.

With all due respect to the people at Sea-Doo—and I have friends and acquaintances there—Yamaha owns that market and has for some time.

With all due respect to my good friend C_Spray, I can't see this as karma, much as some fat-cat jerk in a yacht might well deserve it. The loss of the line surely cost a few people their jobs. Plus, for the sake of competition and choice, it's always good to have another brand out there.

Matt - No argument about the poor folks who may have been let go (unless, of course, they work in the executive offices). Nature abhors a vacuum; some other manufacturer will step in to battle with Yamaha.
