Fabio Buzzi departed NYC today at 3:56pm to try and set the new Bermuda Challenge world record.
As recent Bermuda Challenge competitors, Tyson Garvin and I would like to encourage everyone to cheer Fabio and his four person crew along and wish them a safe journey as they make their way east 780 miles to the finish line in St. Georges, Bermuda.
You can track Fabio's progress on Boating Magazine's website or on his company's page at the following link:

looks like Fabio is around one third of the way to Bermuda in 6 hours. He should make it there in around 18 hours if he keeps up this pace with no problems and beat Chris Fertig and me by a couple hours. Time to put Chris's boat on the trailer and head to New York?

something to ponder.... we crossed the finish line in Bermuda at 8:09 am which was 21 hours 39 minuites.. If you look at this pic I took of the GPS at the half way point you can see the estimated time of arrival in the lower right corner at 4:09 am.
So had we not had some of the problems we could have made it in 17 hours 39 minuites. If Buzzi beats our record but not faster then 17 h 39 m maybe we will try it again?
