Sand it down, sharp edges and a "rough" surface on the gelcoat is the fastest

If you read the directions on applying the speedcoat they actually specify how to leave a dimpled finish. Haven't been brave enough to try it.

Have noticed a few semis running hub caps on the trailer with the "golf ball" pattern.

I remember swimmers using a suit with a shark skin finish that held air bubbles. I haven't seen them used for awhile. So would a shark skin finish help?

Kiss kote works, usually pick up 2-3 mph depending on boat

Golf ball bottom was done by HTM. Don't think it worked out.

Years past I have read about kiss - cote

www.kisspolymers.com

Martin Sanborn has talked about it over the years and said he has seen a 2 mph gain using kiss cote.

Thank you so much !

Another note: Does anyone know how important it is for the sides of the strakes to be straight on the rear steps of the hull ?( front to rear )
