Joe - how do you find the Alpine Marine series compare to the Rockford Fosgate Marine speakers?

Alpines sound every bit as good, and personally better than the JL's and cost half. Fosgates also sound very good. But getting good sound is also very dependant on the setup. You can have an inexpensive speaker sound very good in the right setup. You can have a very expensive speaker sound like crap in the wrong setup.
Don't fall for the JL is the end all hype. Many companies make good sounding speakers. Having a good HU and amp to drive them, and putting them in the proper space makes all the difference.

The DC Gold 7's are the exact same size cut out as the JL 7.7's.
I have heard that the DCG 9.5's do not have quite as good of sound quality because the larger size makes them slower to react. I have no experience with them though.
