If it's a cat... it'll hop! Mine does starting about 70 up to mid 90's and the slicker the water the worse the hop. It is coming from the hull packing enough air to start creating lift at boat's CG. It usually helps me to get the boat up and moving with the drives tucked in then start just bumping the trim not adding any throttle and the boat comes loose and doesn't hop as bad but there is always a little. It is kind of a pain to either have to run 60 or 100 but hey there are worse things...

The fact that it was light on fuel would be another factor it's starting to climb on the air pocket sooner than you are expecting it to.

Prob just trying to stay in flight and was falling off. Bet if you stayed in it.....it would of started to fly level.
Check out all these cats hopping before they gain speed.

Look at one at 6:17 Hops just like that one. Never stops.
Ran boat up over 100 last weekend. Full of fuel and 4 people in boat. Boat never stopped hopping. Anyone have any ideas.
Driving, props, tab, drive angles?

Something has changed to make this occur all the time instead of only when around 85 and light on fuel . Have you added weight in the bow ? Changed props ? The way you stated this leads me to believe the boat didn't do it at all before this occurrence . Is this true ?
This last weekend was pulling the boat out of the marina to take to the house for winter storage. Before I put it on the trailer I went to run it up for a last of year speed rush. This was the first time i ran it up almost out of fuel.Around 85 the boat started to hop. I tried to trim down but that did not make a difference. Since I was concerned about running out of fuel I just shut it down and put it on the trailer. I have never had it this low on fuel before so had not experence this before.
Is there some way to stop this without having to slow down? I have driven a boat that had a porpoise that you could power thru but this was where the compete boat was doing a level hops.

End of last year was low on fuel and only 2 of us. Last weekend was 4 of us and full of fuel. Both time the water had some chop and not much.

Talked to Eliminator today.
They said something is wrong in the setup.
Asked if props turn in or out. turn it, check
Drives should be toe in by about 1/8", I need to check this next time I get to the lake.
He said that the 30 is rock solid and should not have to work it hard to take a set. He said it is possible I was running with too much trim and once started would not stop. He also said have tab level with bottom.

Try running the trim just so the cav plate is level with the tunnel . Any more positive trim than that and i lose handling and speed with my 25' cat . They're all a little different so you will have to experiment . You don't have to move the drive much on a cat .
