Default might buy 25 switzer

Does anyone know of a good/ reasonable boat inspector near centreville md.? Going to check out a 1988 25' switzer. Less than 50 he's on 454. Mild cam. Roller rockers. Ect. New gel coat and paint two yr ago. I know to check stringers. Transome. Bellows ect. Original interior in good condition for age. $5500. Should I be scared of new paint? Thanks for any advice! Thoughts welcome.

first post, welcome aboard, you will find a lot of knoledge on oso,a friend of mine had a 25 switzer with a 454 mag about 10 years ago,he ran it in the illinois river near peoria il.he loved it and never had a problem.as far as the one you are looking at,get a survey first, might save you a ton of money.good luck with it,if it is sound, you will love it.

Boats that size, I would want a BBC setup. It will cost you a bunch to switch over later.

Ten-4. I like the look of switzer better also. That's where I'm leaning. Thanks

I have been in one running 80 mph and it handled good. they have a pad bottom that hits hard in rough water . Quality was always pretty good for what it is. Look around the swim platform for cracks and delamination.
