Any thoughts on these selections? Magnum 27 sedan, just window shopping for engines, will likely have Imco for the steering and a Bravo ! for thew outdrive.
I am a newbie to this and could use the advice.
Thank you

aside from cam selection, as long as it has forged pistons and crank isn't that what matters? hydraulic or mechanical?

unless you like boating alone, some stock small blocks that turn off and on with the key is the best. to jack it all out of shape with gobs of power in a hull thats best from 45 to 70 mps will only net you a bunch of white knuckles friends and family that dont care to get the poo beat out of them and more cracks in the hull, i own 2 -27magnums that are stock and raced a 27 in the early 80s that went over 80 mph i look back at those days and think "what were we thinking

appreciate the response although i though a single big block would be a good choice(forgot to mention that)
500ish horse and build up slightly from there, to the point of 600-650 so as not to tax the Bravo1

I think you are on the right track . Might i suggest that you just purchase the marine shortblock of your choice then give Bob Madara at Marine Kinetics a call and let him pick your heads , cam and valve train . He has made many happy powerboaters around here . He is the very very best at marine cam design and has a knack for squeezing an engine for horsepower . He also checks in here now and then as RMBuilder . You can contact him at [email protected] or 585-654-8583 . Good luck and enjoy your project !! deep
P.S. There are many reputable engine builders here at OSO . Eddie Young at Young Performance , great reputation and great guy , and will build you a very reliable engine .

Thank you Deep I appreciate being steered into a known direction considering beer money budget and box wine dreams lol
I am hoping to complete this project for around 10 to 12ish (optimistically) likely 14 15 ish, drive and steering included with a minimum of 550 and have a platform to build from there, next winter possibly small Weind pro street Supercharger
just want solid, reliable shenanigans and 70 mph
Thank you again
Shawn
