The gopro remotes make it idiot proof. with the phone app its even easier.
The drift camera appears nice, but once you compare them its not in the same ball park. |

Interface, as in operating the settings using the two buttons and having to know all the codes in the booklet to set it up. I dont care what you say, carry three batteries? Thats ridiculous. I have the drift innovations hd170, blows the gopro away. Video is not as good, but its easy to use, I can see exactly what I'm shooting, comes with a remote, mounting is easier, getting angles is easier, the camera itself is waterproof (doesnt need a casing like the gopro), better mic sensitivity settings, 8 hour battery life at 1080, and a rotating lense! I couldnt tell you how many gopro users saw it and said f-it with the go pro
I also have a "cheat sheet" i printed and carry in my camera bag. I have also been using goPro's for the last 6 years and am capturing something on disk at least 5-6x a month, so Im pretty familiar with the settings and features. My son and I are into RC trucks and crawlers, snow boarding, skiing and mountain biking. So it goes everywhere we go....you never know whats gonna happen next. |
Thanks everyone. After looking at the Gopro 3. It looks like thats the way for Me to go. I think I will wait an get it for Christmas. Let a few get out there. An will be easer to find. It really looks like a nice unit. Thanks again for the help. Artie

That thing is a huge (5.25"!!) dinasour, not waterproof and according to the manual only last 2.5 hours. What's the big deal?

http://driftinnovation.com/wp-conten...170-Manual.pdf http://driftinnovation.com/camera/drift-hd/ In my opinion.... and many others that have seen and used it..... it blows the gopro away. To each his own. I would sacrifice video quality for ease of use... thats just me. |
