Artist (Gail Paik) who painted the original 1984 APBA World Offshore Champion "41' Apache Warpath" along with many other famous Bob Saccenti designed boats, still has the magic artistic touch.
Gail is a legendary artist and another pioneer of the offshore powerboat racing industry. http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps2e17dc11.jpg Gail also painted the "Chief" emblem that will adorn the new 42' Chief "Warpath" race boat. http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps42992cd5.jpg Who says famous artwork has to be displayed in an art gallery? I rather see it thundering across the oceans (On The Warpath) throughout the earth... http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/u...pse7e0039a.jpg |
Once again the master....Bob S ....shows all the talkers what a real race boat can be. Made to survive and thrive in real open ocean racing conditions.
It sure is nice to see Bob pulling some new product from that mold! |
I'm surprised the thread isn't getting more attention. Cool thread

I'm going to take a guess that the bottom is foam core. If there's a hit, foam will not suck up water like balsa.
As a boat builder we would never put foam in an area of the boat that could be crushed like the bottom, foam has very little resistance to crushing compared to balsa and once the foam has deformed the boat would delaminate! |

The boat is looking fantastic and I am looking forward to lining up with it at Tower Bridge in London at the start.

That boat came in, dry, under weight so this boat should be able to reach its speed goal. I think all that is left is installing the interior and engine hatches.

She is not a cored boat. As far as the complete schedule you would have to see if Bobby would be willing to discuss that. He and Carl worked on it for a while.
