The motors were designed using a clean sheet of paper everything is new.
The block, heads, intake, brackets are all machined from billet aluminum.
3 years ago the designer Todd Goodwin got tired of fixing motors that broke and thought he could design and build one better. The original intent was for truck pulls, wanted 650 cubic inches and 9500 rpm.

Just curious.

1700HP on 93 is beyond impressive. I have not heard of anyone else near that number on blowers only turbos.

Goodwin does alot of stock cars and drag cars, his big claim is in porting heads. Over the years he's built marine engines for myself and others locally.

I believe these motors in N/A form are around $70K, but that you'd have to confirm with Goodwin. FWIW I ran some Goodwin motors, 598ci 750hp in my boat for a couple seasons and never had a hiccup, but these are completely new animals.

5" bore spacing. They ran on 91 octane on the dyno. On 110, there is no problem making 2200hp.

There certainly cheaper than $204,000. The motors have the same PCM as a 1075, they idle at 1000rpm, run 13:1 at part throttle, idle, mid range for "economy" mode and make a ton of power. PCM has all the safety settings to not let full power until oil temp is up, fuel psi compensation, knock per cylinder, water psi safety, temp..... Air fuel per cylinder is within .25 of eachother pretty much everywhere. Quite impressive and Goodwin did an incredible job with all the work on the engines. The motors in person, are truly a work of art.

Do u have to use a quad rotor setup or could it be like a 8.3 whipple for example? Maybe a dumb question...

Either would work but the quad 4.0L would be better when its stepped up to race gas. This has the one piece throttle body with progressive linkage.
