Key West is $750...+$250 to be a member of the Fl. Powerboat Club...$150/pp for passengers other than captain and 1st mate. Tickfaw wasn't super expensive, which was nice, but it was a 14 hour drive one way...lots of gas in the truck. Back in the day, we tried to keep the Chicago Poker Run a "low-cost" run...it was $500. Boyne Thunder was $650, I think....7 hour drive one way, but the fuel in the boat was KILLER as the run was 120 miles....I had to stop and gas up in Petosky to finish the run...so I'm sure I burned almost 150 gallons...and that was with my stock 502EFIs....

They are pricey, yes, but they are fun.

And, like Dan said, I stay in my cuddy if I can...

Man i seem to spend a lot more than you guys when i go :lolhit: because a week in KW is about 10K for me....The 14k i posted was when we raced and that was hoping we didnt break anything. I thought you were asking how much you spend in total between, hotel gas for boat and rig plus the partying.

I just did the Monster Bash poker run in Lake Havasu last weekend and it is a great poker run. It is a smaller more laid back poker run so the entry fee was only $250. It is a great poker run for smaller boats because the water doesn't get tore up as bad by all the big boats ahead of you. I did the Desert Storm poker run a few years back and that was a bit much for my boat, but it is an awesome event to watch. The cost of that poker run is $500.

from my experiences...this is what we seem to spend:

Truck Fuel: $100 assuming 200 mile round trip
Boat Fuel: $400 assuming nearly empty tank and marine prices (120 gallon tank)
PR entry: $200-$500 depending on the run and hidden fees
Drinks: $100 each person - depends on your crew
Hotel: $0 Never stayed in a hotel
Food: $25-75 depends on whats included in the run

All said and done, we typically spend $1000-$1500 depending on the event. We try to split it evenly among the crew members to make it affordable for everyone. You will likely find many events in this ball park unless you start doing the big ones...i.e. Poker Runs America, FLorida Powerboat, etc...

Those runs will be in the thousands of dollar area vs. hundreds of dollars. I think some of the Poker Run America entry's are $750 and that only includes captain. Then $150 each person...so it adds up. Plus lodging, travel, etc...

Funny, I asked the other side of the OP's original question last year and it seemed that the quality of the supported charity and not price was the driver. For my part, we have historically put a nice run out of Cleveland with shirts, two nights dockage, three days of bands, welcoming heavy apps on Friday, continental, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday for less than $200 for captain and mate (we run hands outside of the entrance fee - add $60 per hand). We don't look to make any money and give away all of the hand money (It has been as high as $3-4,000). Last year we just had a rendezvous because it looked like gas was goign to break $6 a gallon and nobody wanted to burn it. Add that this is run out of a yacht club with pool and the drinks are dirt cheap, I think it is a killer deal.
