Been there, this is a result of about 9000 rpm after some driveline broke:

You got one thing right and that was that the head studs held. He didn't touch the wastegates and it happened at 80 lbs of boost not 160.

The owner didn't excited make any adjustments to the wastegates, and when the engine let go it was at 80 lbs of boost not 160. I don't claim to be Kurt Haisley but there is no way that a stock 6bt block could handle that much boost. A woodruff billet block would hold up to some serious boost but don't think the head studs would hold at 160lbs.

What I'm saying is your information is false.

Well you can think what you want but the data log showed that. However you thinking that a stock block can't hold 80 psi is ignorent. Look at my own boost video back a few pages ago i ran 80 to 90 psi many many times, the vid shows 85 pounds or so, **** we ran 120psi through a powerstroke hundreds of times. Most the engines we ran where cryo'd though and some where full of cement. It may not be neccisary to run that kind of boost but it can be done if BP is under control.

Here you go

That stock block (no cement) let go at 80 lbs of boost while also at 6k rpm. It was making 1200+ hp and over 1700 ft lbs and climbing. I know that a stock unmolested block can handle 100+ lbs of boost, but not 160 lbs of boost. If as you stated back pressure is under control.

Yes i agree 160 is not gonna happen on a stock block, no way. My block in the video above only had studs i was pretty surprised it held so long at 90 psi...The BP was about 75 psi though. By the way it did have a Haisley clutch.
