Fewer people wearing PFDs on KW run?

Watching several videos from the events last week in Key West and I noticed a smaller percentage of passengers wearing jackets.

Has anyone else seen this at other events?

Most captains seem to be jacketed up but considering the bumpiest water in years of the event was last week I was just surprised to see people taking chances like that. It wasn't even hot so the usual excuse is out.

Hope it gets back to normal by the spring start of events for 2013.

Notice it all the time on any run. I make everyone in my boat put one on every time. No excuses. I get wierd looks and even chit from fellow OSOers. No excuses...

What? With you driving who on earth doesn't want to buckle in!:party-smiley-004::lolhit:

I need to follow your policy, need to buy some more non-orange pfd's this spring so we don't look like total clowns. Going 55 in vests is enough, they need to at least not be orange CG specials.

Isn't it mandatory? Is this Stu's event?

Tough to wear it over your snowmobile suit. I want global warming back. Where is Al Gore when you need him?

Yes and yes.

Stu tries very hard to get participants to follow rules set not by him, but by the club's insurance company. Stu takes safety very seriously since he knows his business is tough enough to insure without any incidents.

Very few make an effort to learn and follow the rules that are put forth. Consider the personality types of the teams, they always think they know more than the rule-makers.
