Give us more info on how you plan to boat?

Family/kids?
Will you get the itch to go really fast
Tow vehicle
Swim
Party
Overnight on the boat
Budget

Very smart to buy cash and have money ready to fix it cause they all break

There is always a party when boats are involved, lol. Fast yes. No family. party yes. crash on the boat definitely, yes. budget is a secret, lol.
As far as a tow rig I have Cummins 12 valve that I have tuned up. It is a monster. I pulled a 45 cabin cruiser and never felt it behind me.

I appreciate all the help and advice on my boat search. I think Cigarette Top Gun is going to be my choice. I plan to visit and possibly relocate to Florida. That is what helped me to decide all with other factors. Cigarette is a awesome well built boat and best in rough waters compared to my other choices. After reading more info, it the best choice for me. I like the mid to late eighties models best.
If I had more cash I would purchase the boat that I have wanted since I was a kid. Apache 41 or 47. Seeing Bob Saccenti and Ben Kramer flying through the air was a awesome sight. But I do not have that kind of cash to spend now. Besides they are hard to come by.
Thanks again and hopefully I will see you out on the water this summer.

The post 1990's cabin in the TG is better in most people's opinion (with the built in sink, table, wrap around couch, etc...)

Good Luck in your search.
