Precision Marine la

Has anyone here had there engines built there and dynoed. Do they stand behind the work they do? Looking for some feed back on there work.
Thanks

Smitty 12-18-2012 09:06 PM

Mark is one of 2 guys in the U.S. that I would have any kind of work done on my motors. Mark did the tune on my motors. I crated them up in Chicago, sent them down and got them back, put them in the boat and they run perfect. The tune is right and he got 50 more HP than I expected. He asks a lot of questions about your setup, so be prepared to answer him.

As you can see below, I personally endorse him.

The other guy I would have no problem recommending is Eddie Young at Young performance. He is very good also.

Good Luck.

I have had them do all of my major engine work and have had nothing but good things to say.
If you are looking for a great EFI motor they can do it. When you get your motor and their dyno says it made XXXXhp you can bet it did, and will when it's back in the boat.

akaboatman 12-18-2012 09:28 PM

Great pick. You will be taken care of.

Outkast Rafe 12-19-2012 12:57 AM

straight shooter Mark and Chris do good work.

t500hps 12-19-2012 07:55 AM

Mark tuned a highly modified 500efi for me a few years back. Had a minor issue right when ethanol hit our market. Mark still stood behind what was done and took care of the problem.

johnlomant 12-19-2012 08:25 AM

Mark is doing my motor right now. He is the best and that is why it is there. Your biggest problem is going to be getting him to do the work, last time I looked he was booked thru the winter. He is a very popular man and deserves all the credit he gets.

waterboy222 12-19-2012 09:27 AM

I agree with what Smitty said. He's one of two people in the industry I would trust with my hard-earned cash to deliver a product that was up to my expectations!

BrettM 12-19-2012 10:18 AM

Mark and his team have done a variety of work for us. TOP NOTCH!!

They are honest and great guys, Ive dynoed my motors 6 different times there,With the new work load they hired a new manhinest thats one of the best,Im taking all my machine shop work to them from now on. I was there a few weeks ago picking up a new Dart block, they must of had 12 sets of 1075's getting rebuilt,Ive never seen so many in one place:drink:

For motors, Mark is the MAN. There is a reason he was IN THE BILGE of Miss Geico helping them get it set in Key West.

DEFYN GRAVITY 12-19-2012 08:17 PM

Mark, Chris and the Boys are "First Class!!!" Some "heavy hitters" in the New Orleans area trust him, say's it all!!! Plus, I have it on good authority, that they fly a mean Boeing B-757!!!

Why thank you very much Smitty. That really means a lot to me.

As several have mentioned, Mark is a great guy. He is an excellent tuner, so if you are looking to have an engine dynoed and tuned, you are in good hands.

I have been dealing with Mark (Precision Marine) for over 20 years and he is the best! He truly understands Supercharged, EFI motors, computers, etc. and applies his knowledge to real boating conditions. He doesn't just build and tune engines from a textbook and then send you and your rig down the road of disappointment. They perform all of their machine work in house and have one of the best machinists on staff.

There are a lot of salesman and self proclaimed "EFI Engine Builders", but there are only a few true experts in the field. Precision Marine is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Mark is a great guy!!! Wish he would build some outboards.

86RedRocket 12-21-2012 09:02 AM

I've met Mark, but have not personally done business with him. However, a few people I know have, and they have been very pleased. One guy I know will not use anyone else other than them. He will pull his boat 5-6 hours to have them do the work rather than 15-20 minutes to have someone else do it.

ozarkdevil 12-21-2012 03:31 PM

I too had heard good things about Mark mostly from Doc Holiday and Dustin Whipple. So I loaded my Whipplecharged 525efi in the back of my truck and drove 14hrs to his place. BIG MISTAKE!! Can you say back yard mechanic and to compare Mark to Eddie Young, ARE you serious??
I am not saying he can't do good work but I was the 1 in 10 customers that got the sh*t job.
I do have pics of all the things that had to be fixed including blown head gasket first time boat was in water and both oil pans leaking, oh yeah it goes on & on. Said he would fine tune engines with boat in water at LOTO, stood me up twice. 1st time did return my call & the second would not even answer my calls.
As I said earlier Mark isn't even a pimple on Eddie Youngs ass in the marine world.

While I really appreciate the vote of confidence, ya'll please don't turn this thread into a comparison to Mark and I. I've already stated that the original poster would be in good hands if he sent his stuff to Mark to dyno and tune. If I didn't have respect for Mark and what he does, I wouldn't have made a post at all. There are only a few shops that I would recommend for work, and he is one of them.

We all have our followers, good and bad. Let's keep this about what the OP asked. I'm sure that everyone on hear that owns a business has at least one or more customers that aren't happy.
Thanks,
Eddie

I brought my motors to Mark in April 2009 and picked them up August 2009. Ran boat once in (I think) October 2009, blew head gasket, put boat on trailer, winterized it & it sat until April 2010.

Eddie , your post says "original poster would be in good hands if he sent his stuff to Mark to dyno and tune". I agree with you, he can run a dyno & I believe it is honest HP #'s but he did a crap job on my rebuilds. The OP asked if anyone has had a motor rebuilt & dynoed not tuned & dynoed as you give him credit for.
As far as unhappy customers goes I said in my post " I was probably the 1 in 10 customers that got the crap job.
Baja27 was asking if anyone here has had there engines rebuilt & dynoed and wanted feed back. I stated my experience with Precision marine as asked by Baja27 & my opinion will never change.
If anybody thinks I am making all this up just PM me, I have a ton of pics.

I live 8 hours away from New Orleans and nobody touches my engines other than Mark and Chris, even for a simple oil change and valve lash.
As a matter of fact I have had Mark completely rebuild a 1075 to top notch standards that has held up through high rpm running for almost 100 hours with only valve lashes and oil changes. He's about to do two more for me and pull some really big horsepower numbers out of them and see how it goes. Im sure there are other guys just us good, but I have never met them. I have to no reason to. Ive found the guys who will do all my work on anything from here on out.
On top of that, theyre top notch human beings and a pleasure to spend time with.
