If I were buying a new boat it would definitely have a wrap around windshield. But I think we are talking about 2 different things. If I had a boat with a wrap around windshield I would never go to 1/4s..nor would I do the reverse.

It would be like taking a classic camaro and putting a corvette hood on it. Some things are better they way they were built originally.

I still think, even after all the banter about older Skaters, that this boat - mine - is the best bang for your buck. Anything out there that is a 2003 or newer that is at least 38 ft and total of 1500 HP (mine is 1800) and $120,000 or less?

I like your boat a lot but what kills it for me is the fact that it isn't a true tunnel and I do all of my boating in the ocean.

It is an "offshore" boat... Specifically, what is the disadvantage of a center pod? I was told this type of boat is considerably safer.

The advantage of the center pod is no hop at lower speeds, say 60-90, in calm water. But when it is rough the center pod slaps and beats you up pretty good. A true tunnel will outshine a center pod boat in rough water all day long.
