johnnyboatman 01-10-2013 04:26 PM

not sure but it looks like it has a pop-up camper on the rear...

speicher lane 01-10-2013 04:53 PM

there is another thread from when the boat was first listed....basically it is full of bulkheads with a small lounge/bed and a porta
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...rd-sale-4.html

105mph from a non-stepped v- boat, solidly built and running top end with manners isn't sounding bad to me!

Yep, center has an access to go under the deck.

Scrape money for...

2x 1075's
2x Bam trannies
2x #6's
2x Herring props

...adds up quick

hammer01 01-10-2013 05:08 PM

Silly question maybe, but why are tabs positioned like they are so high?

So most v-bottoms should be cheaper than 179k?

That boat is unbelievable.

Easy there fountain guy. That Saber will be around when most Fountains are mush. Have some respect.

Those are old school race hatches to clear old school blower motors.
But those 1075's seem mounted higher in the box to clear the notched transom.
So those hatches look necessary to clear the top of them.
I think they go well with the traditional style of the boat.

Race style mounting, works very well. The action of the tab is straight down and allows deflection in that direction not off to the side like traditional mounting.

Made with Balsa coring just like most of the mere mortal boats.... So come back down to reality.

Considering it's a 2006 hull the price seems fair. Unlike the Apache's from the 80's and 90's this hull has significantly less wear and probably a better documented history.

I was under the understanding that they were out of the original mold.... Which does not really make them a "knock-off".... It makes them an apache with a different name.

POWERPLAY J 01-10-2013 07:34 PM

Beautiful boat!

I didn't know Lego built a boat? Apparently I was wrong...

I agree. Best buy out there right now. Nice rig

Beautiful boat!

offshorexcursion 01-10-2013 10:05 PM

Great boat that will take the rough better then majority of other boats. Priced fair. Classic look gets even better in person. Does not matter if it only goes 105 it will do it in Lake Michigan, LOTO slop, etc, while a 120mph fountain can only go 40 thorugh the rough! Plus it will hold together. Whoever buys this boat will be one happy owner! Enjoy

Yep, faster. Isn't that what really counts? Handles rough water too. We can wait for the "skater vs apache" thread pans out to see which is better for rough water. Personally, I could have bought a V hull, but it is my humble opinion that cats handle rough water better.

Again, $50,000 less and it will walk away from that VHull at 105 MPH! And, it will do that with 300 less HP!

Actually, when we first got this cat it's TattleTale GPS said it had done a best of 146 MPH. I have done 128 (GPS) with smaller pitch props at 6250 ft elevation, and 130+ at sea level with the original props in a short test.

Will blow by a 105 MPH boat...

It's kind of ****ing obnoxious that you keep inserting your classified ad in a bunch of threads touting what a great deal your boat is. Seems to me if it was a deal people couldn't pass up on it would be sold by now.

+1......

Also note that all white 04 Nortech with 525/XRs sold recently for about his asking price which tells me someone still would rather have a small power NT than a Hustler cat.

POWERPLAY J 01-11-2013 07:37 AM

Funny how the self righteous get butt hurt when the thread centers around a real boat.

So a 377 Hustler Cat built light for speed is going to handle the same water as a 41 apache..? :bong:

To me the CAT deal of the last 12 months was RARE BREED. I think the final asking price on that got down to 149 if I remember correctly.

I can say with 100% honesty

I would take a 525/XR (reliable turn key everyday) cat over a Hustler cat, and would do it every time if asked again.

Guy actually put the power in the classfieds so I would think he is putting bigger power in. 525's aren't exactly maintenance free, plenty of stories on here about header leaks causing rebuilds but I understand your point.

Not knocking Clifford, Its a bad ass machine and well worth the asking price for the amount of Kaboom it offers. I have day dreams of owning it.
But lets get back to the 120mph 42 Fountains that can only run 40mph in snotty waters.....You have obviously never ridden in one.
