Unless you are driving to Miami, I wouldn't worry about parking. No need to rent a car if you're going to be staying in the SB area. I plan on cabbing to and from airport and walking everywhere else as well as using the provided shuttles to the yacht show and in water show. My hotel is at 16th and Collins so only 2 min walk to the beach, 5 min to the boat show, and a few stumbles from all the bars lol.

san juan is a great location, we stayed there once. Better bring a sleeping bag to sleep on. The pic on there site is the lobby (from 50 years ago and they have not updated or painted since it was built). The only good thing about the san juan is sitting in the chairs in the front and watching the drunks and hookers walk by at 2-5 am.
