Default why two blowers

Why do boat engines have two blowers and why don't race cars or super street races have that intake setup? I'm new to all this. I have one more ? Why do all header joints have a rubber hose in the joints. What is the purpose?

the rubber hose is used to transfer the jacketed water from the header to the tail pipe.

I think height has a lot to do with the two blower setup you don't necessarily need to cut scoops in valuable sun pad space. Youre talking the quad rotor Whipple setup like on 1075's?

not an expert, but i think 4 small rotors are much easier to spin than 2 big ones...less inertia

Giant lysholme type screw blowers weren't available.

The inertia statement is possibly true, but not the reason.

Compact size and spinning 2 blowers slower takes less HP and creates less heat.
