I've had Nextel for 5 or 6 years (the beginning), and there aren't any roaming charges.

nextel don't roam, either you can call or you can't

I've got an old Cingular plan with unlimited nights and weekends. Not a lot of "anytime" minutes, but for $42/month I can talk all I want on weekends. It does have roaming charges, but their new plans don't.

I have had Sprint for 4 years. Bill used to be $50.00 a month, but added new phone for wife. Now it's up to $69.95 for 5000 minutes. I have both phones set to no roaming. I told wife "no internet on the phone" for $0.40 a minute. We use Sprint for all long distance calls, no charges. It keeps the regular phone down to around $35.00 a month or so.
