Grider is a longer drive, they charge you $5.00 to put your boat in, teh ramp is OK, and the parking is horrible. Unless you are wanting to start out closer to the falls or something, I would recommend you keep going where you already are. I always liked State Dock's ramp. My in-laws keep their houseboat at Grider, otherwise I would go to State Dock, like you.

That's the thing with Erie, you never know what she's going to throw your way at any given moment.

The other perk to putting in at Grider Hill, (other than a free place to stay for me, close to the falls, etc), is that Dale Hollow is like a 25 minute tow from there.
