The Saber 28 was a great hull. I'm pretty sure that the Powerquest tooling and assets were sold at auction within the last couple of years.
Would have to see the quality of the tooling and extent of the equipment that is included but $250k for Saber is more reasonable depending also on how many models they have/had. Although Saber does not have much name recognition anymore so likely better off to invest the $250k in new tooling and company. From what I remember Sabers are pretty dated. Black Thunder was bit overpriced in my opinion but glad to see they got picked up. |
Guess i should have looked at the website first! Didn't realize they had the 41 and 47 Apache molds.
Overall this could be a pretty good buy. |
Yep, That's who built "Clifford"

So is the 44 a blocked off 47?? Don't they have a hull sitting there with no deck or something along those lines? They have 7 models do they have 7 molds?

It would be awesome to do some updating and have another builder on the west side again.

I know you get the 41' molds, but they 47' molds ownership has always been merky and lively contested.

If business is all about fulfilling an unmet need, this is a tough one to spend the money on even if it is cheap. It is a brand with minimal recognition, no real niche and dated models.

With the 28, 41, 44, and 47 molds..... not a bad deal to someone serious about building some true off-shore wave crushers.
An updated version of Apache sure would be sweet. |
