A few weeks ago I tripped across a post here from Austin about boating in the Bahamas and going out on his Pantera 28. His offer to visit their resort and go out in the Pantera was enough of a lure for us!
My wife and I were looking to take a break, get out of the cold and do something different, go boating, see some islands, possibly snorkel a bit and walk on white sand beaches and drink some rum . . we booked a week with Austin and Amy at:

We wanted a vacation to relax, with no need for a car, away from society, and not break the bank. I had another side motivation.......
Austin and Amy run a fantastic resort, layed back, great food, great drinks, quiet, and really cool. You can just hang for a few days read a good book and watch the boats go by, or learn to kite board, go fishing, boating......or just sit back and drink plenty of their Yahoes!
Imagine getting off the airplane on Great Abaco Island, and driving yourself to an island in your own boat. . .
There's great places to go . . if you like beach bars

Want to walk through old villages and see small galleries and shops, meet the old woman selling fresh baked pastries ..
there's neat old villages like Hopetown, Man-o-War Cay, a great gallery at Little Harbor.
Austin's Pantera is a great ride, and this was what hooked me. My wife was timid around boating in bigger water and waves than Lake Winnipesaukee, she doesn't enjoy my little 18' Donzi Corsican in rough water and had concerns around ocean boating in our Magnum 27. Austin took her out in some big water and waves, and taught her how to drive! Just going there for the opportunity to go out in the Pantera in the Atlantic might be enough of a draw for some!
Nothing like having someone with experience take the tension out of her around boating , waves and flying over them. Linda is excited, Austin is great teacher . . and my marriage survives!
Check them out! They'll help you with flights and getting there, Austin and Amy have lived in the Bahamas for years, and can offer suggestions on what to do , where to go, how catch a fish, or just leave you alone to relax. Truly one of the most ralxing week vacations we have ever had!
We'll be going back, and would really like to this in the Magnum 27 for a longer time to expolore more of the Abacos and surrounding islands.

Sounds like your experience was just as great as ours a couple years back.
We are missing the feeling of complete relaxation and plan to head back soon.
Austin and Amy really have a hidden gem and the bonus of time running offshore can satisfy most any OSO member.

Hey guys... thanks for the kind words
I think I had more fun than you guys driving you around, it's not the average person that likes to go fast in the Pantera with me, so I soak it in when you OSO'er come down!
J-Bonz ... thanks for finding my spare drive

Hey Austin, we will be coming over at the end of May on friends 53' Hatteras. Our planned stops so far are Great Sale Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Great Guana Cay (2 nights), and Marsh Harbour (2 nights). Probably 1 or 2 more stops after these before crossing back over. Do you have dockage?
