Default fuel mileage

wonder about fuel mileage.

has anyone done real world test runs and what was the actual mileage ?

just ran from fort myers beach to a restaurant up in punta gorda, 124 miles round trip. the boat - 32 DW with 565 bbc and # 6 drives. used 58 gallons total of fuel.

thats about 2.1 mpg, including both motors.

would like to see what other guys are averaging ?

I track mine religously because i dont really trust my fuel gauges. I track fuel in over gps miles.

Scarab 454 Mags - 1.4 mpg (if memory serves)
Donzi 525 SC's - 1.12 mpg
my old 260 CC Scorpion w/260 Mercs - 1.25 mpg (secondaries were always open lol)

These are averages over entire seasons and worked well estimating fuel

How the heck ya been Dave, been meaning to call. Did you make Key West last Nov?

i have some data which was posted on boat mad a few years ago using Diacom software 496HO
700rpm=1.61gph
3000rpm=11.67 gph
4500rpm=29.26mpg
4950rpm=34gph

Dont like to look at them stats to often as we pay abot $ 9 a gallon over here in the uk and i got 2 of them suckers drinking it .

Hi!

In Norway its good nautical charts for the coastline, and the new technology makes it easy to figure out the mph. I have a 2,800 lbs 25 feet hull with a single Verado 350 sci. At 3500 rpms I get close to 5 mpg and at 4000 rpms I get 4,65 mpg. Magificant numbers when you pay 12 USD per gallon.
