There were 300 Charter Members.
The number was actually your sign up number and didn't correspond to the charter status. I was the 55th person to register on OSO....after the first major software upgrade.

Not a charter member but been here a while, October 2000, what makes a person a charter member? Only 1, 500+ posts in over 12 years...I tend to keep my mouth shut unless I feel compelled to say something.

How would I not be a charter member since my membership join date predates most Charter members?, My join date was the same year and month as your join date? I number was in the low 100's from what I recall.

You had to pay for it. I think it was a way to help Jeffrey pay some overhead for the site.
