Audacity, what about changing the tranny fluid in the auto's in the 150's. Some say yes others say no.

i say hell no...the clutches will slip more and the addition of a new detergent will bust up crap that will get hung up in the valve body...just my .02 ....

Audio, was it the solenoid body and MLPs that was replaced. That is the most common "electrical" repair. We have done prbably 2500 E4OD and 4R100 solenoid bodies over the past years. Joey, you are right in the aspect that changing fluid will cause problems with a trans that has clutches and bands that are "varnished", but if your trans is healthy and you service it, you will have no problems. Problem is too many people believe a service will help a trans that has black, burned fluid, this is when problems arise. BTW, Joey, how are those new 6.0s coming. I want one of the new ones with the 5R100 but I think I'll wait for "YOU" guys to work out the bugs. Sam

ahhhh. working on one right now!!! BTW...the MLPs is our MOST MISSED diag. warranty issue we have....so we took it off the outside and put on the inside...it's just about the first thing a dealer will due,,,,due to time saved....kinda like our bad EEC's....when all it was, was the bolt not being toqued from the factory....oops.

Joey, you guys don't EVER make mistakes like that do ya,LOL. I am hearing through my connections that the dealers are cracking down on transmission failures when chips and such are involved. I know 3 service mgrs. that are very good freinds that are saying it is getting difficult to push some of the warranties through. Drats, looks like the 125hp chip and propane will have to be used a little less now. On second thoughts naaaaaa.:D

Ford has a bad habbit of not putting on a big enuf trans cooler and it cost me 4500, the Ford dealer I took it to replaced the cooler with a larger one and we are still going strong:D :D :D

audacity 07-19-2002 02:28 PM

hummm....ok....i'll leave it at that.

u can make ASS LOADS of power with the new one...and it idles like a gas car.

audacity 07-19-2002 02:30 PM

it gets hot from the converter not locking...allow it to lock and then let it have it...the trans will last an amazingly long time!
