Default Miami Boat Show: Latham Giving Free American Flags

Latham Marine Boasts 40 Years and Hosts a Patriotic Booth

Honoring US Military Veterans and American Small Business and Offering Souvenirs for Customers

As part of its 40th Anniversary celebration, Latham Marine will be flying the American flag—literally and figuratively. Proud of its status as a 40-year old company that represents the American Dream and the backbone of the American economy—small business—Latham Marine will give away 1,000 small American flags to customers who visit their booth, (1-100) at the Progressive Miami International Boat Show.

In addition, for the first 100 customers who come to their booth with the identification number from the end-cap of their Latham hydraulic steering ram, Latham Marine will give an anniversary commemorative towel, an ideal accessory for golf, fishing or boating. Having manufactured over 22,000 steering rams over the past 40 years, Latham Marine records each number so it knows when it was sold, to whom and for what kind of boat. The registration is an invaluable tool in tracing the history of each ram, as well as its maintenance record. Many Latham Marine steering rams go for well over a decade without any maintenance issues, but the company does recommend that customers send their rams back to the factory every 10 years or so for inspection and replacement of the fluids and seals. Many customers have found that their Latham Steering system outlasts their boats!

Aside from a broad assortment of Latham parts, visitors to the Miami Boat Show will again have the opportunity to see a rare East Coast appearance of the commemorative POW car. The 1955 Chevy Bellaire Dragster—restored by Army veteran Max Loffgren and a host of other vets, family and friends--is adorned with the hand-painted names of all 3,578 MIAs and POWs from the Viet Nam war-tours and is a memorable tribute to all who served.

Latham Marine was recently highlighted in a Soundings Trade Only article by Jim Flannery, telling the story of their company’s history. http://mydigimag.rrd.com/publication/?i=143534&p=16 “The article was an excellent explanation of how our company came together and how we have held it together solidly over the past 40 years,” says Kathy Latham, “We are proud to be an example of what it means to our customers and to our country to be ‘Made in America.’”
