Pretty sure the guys at Double R would be considered experts.......

Fountains are great boats but a 47 is a big commitment (rack storage or trailering it) and if a 42 is almost the same speeds, one less motor/drive it makes for a better alternative.

Yes, my knowledge of that boat is a bit old. Was commenting from when I was looking and a broker called me on it. Was going to go look at it in Miami but ending up buying the 2009 before I got the opportunity.

Too bad Dreamer is not active on OSO anymore. I'd ask him for value pricing.

Now we have to default to 302Sport.

Agree completely on the "commitment" of having 3 motors and the sheer size of the 47. I think "better alternative" is subjective to what your needs are though. In my case, I wanted a bigger cockpit, bigger cabin and more stability in big water. Going from my 38, the only thing the 42 would have given me is a better ride.. The 47 gets me everything I wanted plus some more amenities to make the wife happier. Speed-wise, I got upper 80's with my 38, I've already seen 90 on my 47 and it will cruise at 60 making everyone happy..
