They have around 240 hrs on them and have never been freshened. Is there anything that I need to know about these engines in general? I will do a compression test before purchase, but it will be difficult to do a leakdown as it is sitting on a lift miles away from a good source of compressed air.
I have looked up the specs on the new Teague 825 and it says 509CI with a 3.3L whipple. Would this be accurate for these older 800's? What about the drives, are they plenty good enough for the 800's? Thanks -Eric |
i would watch the drives you may be ok if you easy on it.

Yes, the 40 at LOTO. I think that the superchargers have "Whipple" cast into the tops.
Those 40s are pretty heavy boats, even with 800s I'm not sure its going to do much over 90. The one they did with TCM 1000/#6s ran 110. Not sure if that is enough to cure your desire to go faster lol. |
Thanks for the advice. I called Teague today and they treated me like family. Answered every question and BS'd for half an hour. Made an offer, will see what happens.

I have a 42 tiger flat bottom, 630 hp engines 670 tq, one xr drive failure in over 7 years...a lower, it had 472 hours on it... if you want an opinion of someone that owns one, pm me...or listen to the people here. I'm not easy on it, nor do I abuse it.
