Miami boat show usually gets the buying juices flowing, and around here if your boat isn't sold by mid july plan on keeping it for another year

Ask people in the north, it feels like the middle of winter :P Splitting hairs. Point remains the same.

If this were a few weeks before Memorial Day, totally different story.

Good luck with the inspection on Saturday. I'm sure you'll know if this is the boat for you once you see it in person. Compare it to all the other boats you may have looked at already. It's only a good deal if you're happy with what you're paying, what everyone else thinks doesn't make a difference once you're behind the wheel with a big grin on you're face!

I like the 80% of asking price rule of thumb.

Wannabe

they are asking 34,999.00 with trailer

you would have to be a moron to make a statement like this,,for one the boat is not even in production anymore..brake a windshield and your sol,,as a matter of fact you brake anything that had been made from powerquest good luck finding it,,that rite their will cost you a arm and a leg to mfr it..only thing the boat has going for it is the merc engine package..if im going to spend that coin i would look at a boat that is still in production..Btw,,nada prices are way over then they should be..

just my o2..

Edit,,i take it back about the merc pkg..its a 496 boat that is not in production anymore so theirs another negative point..

If the PQ 280 is what you want you can find one less than 34k. I think there is 2 of them in the OSO classifieds with 502's for less than 34k. Might be able to find more on other classifieds.

So you had a look at the PQ, now you have a base to start looking at others. MrFix has a good point about parts, go look at the Formula and see how it compares to the PQ. Try to look at all boats in your area to get a reasonable idea of how well they have been maintained and the aesthetics compare and/or have held up. You will have to compromise on something eventually, be it motors or hull or even price. I feel wax and vinyl are cheaper than motors. .02
