you sure its 4 and 5/8ths? I just did a couple dashes and the Livorsi tach was a tight 4 1/2. Had to clean it up with a piece of 80 but 4 and 5/8ths would have been way to big.

No, i havent started yet. It is a 5" Livorsi gauge that says 4 5/8 cutout. I plan to cut a 4.5 in some scrap and see how tight the gauge is and probably sand/file from there to make it a good fit.

This is the easiest and safest way to not mess anything up. 3/8 plywood is sufficient and will guard you against hitting anything else. Make sure you pull the pilot bit out and make sure you clamp it down good.

The 12v handheld Milwaukee sawzall with the right blade makes nice holes also. You need the bladet that is only 1/4" high so it can make the turn

4 1/2" hole saw and sneak up on the final size with a 3" flap wheel or 2" drum in a die grinder.
