I have used polk MM series on my SeaRay and 4 6.5" with two Kicker subs are fantastic. I did use a JL amps but the MM Polk sounds as good as anything until I listened to Focal... I just ordered a set of them for my MTI and its going to rock!!
For the money the Polk but if you don't mind dropping some coin the FOCAL is hands down the best audio equipment out there. Once you've had Focals, you won't settle for anything less. |
Wet sounds !!!
JL is good stuff but if you want the Best WET SOUNDS can't be beat !! I'm just starting on a $12,000.00 SYS for a Custom 32' Fiberglass Tri-Toon with twin 300 hp Suzuki you'll hear it from over a mile away !

I was going to start another thread but I see what happens here...
I have 4 6x9 JBL's and Im in the process of rebuilding my bench structure out of starboard... so I would hate to cut out the 6x9 holes for these speakers that seem decent but then im stuck again with the 6x9's. Should I just cut my losses now and go to a 6.5 speaker? Buddy of mine said that there's not much of a market for the 6x9's anymore... Not sure i can afford the 6.5 JL speakers right now... Put the 6.5" up in the sides of the boat. Put a couple of 10" subs in the bench with boxes, and have sound that is 10 times better. Don't get all caught up in JL either. Lot's of brands of 6.5" that can be had for less than $100 a set that sound every bit as good if not better than JL. 10" subs can be had for less than $100 each that will far out perform the JL free airs. Get a decent amp for around $500 and you will have a slammin system for less than $1000 if you can install it yourself. |
