How Come Nobody has bought this Boat?
Been for sale several times lately - Seems like it is a litte bit of a one of a kind (being a 55MTI). I figured one of the big players would have taken a swing at it by now?!?!?!
Seems liveable, you could overnight on it comfortably, etc.... Maybe priced a little high still since it has been a repo I believe and that would make me nervous with the 1075's, but still, I am surprised someone hasn't jumped on it..... What are the specs on it.... Beam? Weight? LoA? Speed with 1075's? http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o49808-en.html |
With a baby...or 2 or 3 :, that's exactly what you need. That's why you dredged the canal right!?
|
To me that is like a 4 door Ferrari, most owners have another car to get groceries in. If you are going to deal with a wide beam boat, and 1075 maintenance why not go a little smaller 44-48. The slightly smaller less equipped vessel will be faster, and you can just sleep at your South Beach home, 80 foot yacht, or favorite 5 star hotel. At that price point, it is getting into the range of people that do not have a budget. They also never seem to sleep on their boats
That is my best guess, not sure if it is an educated guess however |

I don`t want to break my kids piggie bank for the $350K

I agree its a rare boat. you never seen a cat with options, let alone a Genny.
would be a awesome boat for someone to pick up that was looking for that, but people looking to do that, are in the 100k range, not 350k. |
Got to wonder what they were thinking when they set that up. "Hmmmmm. 55 feet long... How can we make it easier to handle around the dock? I know!!! Lets put fixed drives and a rudder on it!"

Tough to rack store. Trailerable? About the only options, Big Slip with Big lift. Or a Crane.

This IS the second owner. Pier 57 sold this last Summer to current owner. It was on the Miami Show PR.
That thing is AWESOME. Run over 100 easy and ride like a Bentley. I'd love it but you just have to realize you are only doing events local to your location. Hauling that bizzatch across the country is not a good idea. |
I think those big cats are simply a hassle to own. The big NT's (43/44/50s) seem to take forever to sell and go very cheaply compared to what they cost new. This MTI with the rudder and older 1075's will be for sale for awhile.
Warbird (turbine NT 50) was for sale off/on for the last 2 years and when it was reduced to 225k it sold in a week. Even some of those big Skater 46's seem to languish on the market for years so I suspect it is the size more than the particular brand. |
