How lost would I have been in the ability to read waves if not for years of body surfing and surf boarding in my younger days. My brother and I would later spend hours hooking our boats into waves and riding them like powered surf boards. Much more fun than a day at Ceader Point or Six Flaggs.

Sid Treet's Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Zip Larry Lauterbach....in just about anything. and don't forget........ Les Brown's "Long Gone".....especially when...... Billy Seebold drove it..(There's a bit of trivia you won't find in Powerboat) T2x I used to race in the CBF races in Unlimited "Sportscraft".... My then business partner, ran in the inboards...... Don Lostumbo. Later we were all on the Joint North American Championship committee. Joe G., Don, Bob Nordskog, Charlie Strang, and me. As a CBF member.... I guess I represented Canada........;) |

How about "Pop Schroeder in "Miss Buffalo" & "Miss Bardall"? Bob Schroeder now has an "Atlas Van Line" & an old twn seater "Miss Budweiser". We have the antique races at the Buffalo Launch Club every Sept. (The oldest powerboat club in the country!).
Gotta back off, getting carried away here. Sorry guys, just good memories. |

Where'd you go? Out of town?

Strike:
As a matter of fact......I did. However, I'm better now. I saw Bob Schroeder's unlimiteds at THe Antique Race boat Regatta in Clayton, NY. This bi-annual event comes up in a few weeks........I strongly urge all who can to attend........ The memories and hull and hardware collections are priceless........ As to the topic at hand........... Most boating accidents must be prevented.........not corrected. We all need to realise that you can put your boat in positions that no one can get out of......... even a Lawn Dart. T2x |
