Uh-oh, now I am going to overthink the situation. Well, the PROBLEM is still that the breaker trips. But the next step would be finding the circumstances. Like you said, day or night, storm, dryer on or just plugging in, anything else plugged in, etc.

Or, on another front the problem is she doesnt know where the breaker panel is or how to reset the breaker! 
Ron... Son of an engineer. When I was a kid and asked dad questions like why the sky was blue I got a 45 minute disertation on the subject. Gotta love it!
