Ok just found this picture, what if it was an almost head on and he never went over boat. What I don't like is the scruff in the blue bottom paint as there was blue marks on the starboard side of the IMP. Still think there should be more damage though.

It's been stated on other News blogs so I didn't feel I was sharing something that wasn't already out there. After all, that was how I found out. I never knew he got married until someone posted the link to the wedding pictures .

As to the other boat that ran aground that night, it ran aground south of the area of the Post/DiGilio accident, and was heading north. It could not have been involved. That is not to say that there could not have been another boat as per Tims theory, it just was not that particular one.
What type of boat was it ?

Does anyone know what the response time was from the 1:14 AM report of the accident ? How long was it before help arrived on the scene ?

Just curious if this can be proven for sure, as originally the defendant stated he knew he hit something but did not know what.
The Prosecutors claim the speed to be a wide range of 51 to 69 mph. I wonder if they are saying this is the Imperial's speed or a combination speed upon impact where you add the speed of the two vessel together? Hopefully they clarify that. The Whaler was at "PLANING" speed according to the quote of the Widow but no one seems to be bragging about how fast the Whaler was going?
As stated there is no posted speed limit, they were not in a No Wake zone per the Widow. The woman on the 911 call said she thought they hit a bouy. She was told they were hit by another boat.

According to testimony, if the lights are not on, you give up all rights of way.

If I was able to get pics that night it would have settled whether or not he had his lights on at least while running through the inlet. If indeed it was him.

After review of these images, if the did not hit the whaler at a 90 degree and more of a Starboard to Starboard hit, I can almost see it possible to have no damage on the port of the Imperial. But how does the Imperial escape with so little damage to the starboard ? Still hard to believe either way...
