Tim, I stared at the images for a week thinking that was blue bottom paint. I am convinced it is not. Look at what color the trailer stop is and is what lead me to think the damage I saw on this boat is mostly trailer damage by missing the bunks upon loading. It's been stated on other News blogs so I didn't feel I was sharing something that wasn't already out there. After all, that was how I found out. I never knew he got married until someone posted the link to the wedding pictures .

I wonder why this accident of a boat running aground did not get reported ? Surely the boat needed assistance to get pulled off the beach ? Regardless of direction the boat was running at the time, that boat should be inspected as well. The cameras from the Route 37 Bridge would certainly prove they were indeed headed North had they come under it.
What type of boat was it ?

Question

Does anyone know what the response time was from the 1:14 AM report of the accident ? How long was it before help arrived on the scene ?

Yes I heard that.

Just curious if this can be proven for sure, as originally the defendant stated he knew he hit something but did not know what.

The Prosecutors claim the speed to be a wide range of 51 to 69 mph. I wonder if they are saying this is the Imperial's speed or a combination speed upon impact where you add the speed of the two vessel together? Hopefully they clarify that. The Whaler was at "PLANING" speed according to the quote of the Widow but no one seems to be bragging about how fast the Whaler was going?

As stated there is no posted speed limit, they were not in a No Wake zone per the Widow. The woman on the 911 call said she thought they hit a bouy. She was told they were hit by another boat.

Assuming the Ahaler was the burdened vessel, how would a burnt out bow light on the Imperial change which boat has the ROW?

According to testimony, if the lights are not on, you give up all rights of way.

I was at Jenks North that night and what I presume was this boat going out the inlet I was able to hear it over the MUSIC being played there. I tried to get photos but only had my short lens on and I could not see it well from where I was at as the jetty got in my way.

If I was able to get pics that night it would have settled whether or not he had his lights on at least while running through the inlet. If indeed it was him.

Photos credited to APPOnline.com

After review of these images, if the did not hit the whaler at a 90 degree and more of a Starboard to Starboard hit, I can almost see it possible to have no damage on the port of the Imperial. But how does the Imperial escape with so little damage to the starboard ? Still hard to believe either way...
