Who Is A Good Engine Rebuilder?

FOR BIG CUBIC INCH SUPERCHARGED MOTORS.

Ryan Beckley 07-24-2002 06:59 PM

Innovation Marine, Sarasota, Fla. 941-355-7852, Rick Lamore Jr.

RumRunner 07-24-2002 07:01 PM

In NJ you've got Kurt over at Kurt's Marine www.kurtsmarine.com or over on the Island you always got Zul www.zulracing.com

Bob Wallace at Offshore Performance in Egg Harbor Township NJ. His big motors power four or five cigarettes (the 38 top gun that ran 95mph in smooth water at the radar shoot out are just his 900's) His 1100's push his "old style 38" 108+, and 41' apache over 100. He is probably the "straightest shooter" you will ever come in contact with. My non-blower 588 is on it's third summer with "no problems".

Have to agree with blue american, Bob is a honest as you'll find in the marine business. And he's pretty local just down in Somers Point. Hope this isn't for the Slingshot.

36spectre 07-24-2002 08:26 PM

Kurt has been my engine builder since 1988. Nothing but the best to say about him and his crew. Honest when he did't have to be. I have reffered several friends and they have always thanked me 732-477-7400. Secind choice is Rolph at Proroc Marine, not as big of a place but great guy to deal with and has been racing both cars and boats forever. 732-477-7039. Otto

Reindl Powerboats 07-24-2002 08:28 PM

Have to say the best we have found are Innovation and a local guy we use here in Cincinnati. You can't go wrong with sterling either.

GRH 07-25-2002 09:27 AM

Upstate NY ..... Jack Boyd... Boyd Motorworks 518-661-6089.... Motor won't leave the shop till you see it run on the Dyno! This guy is as good as it gets for big blower motors.....

jeffaker 07-25-2002 09:58 AM

Tyler Crockett @ 810-324-2720. His engines recently set the B-class kilo record in Savanah. A non stepped late model Scarab ran 102+ in 95 degree heat and humidity.

bob 07-25-2002 11:56 AM

If you want a local builder, Otto's got it covered above. If you are willing to spend a couple bucks more for a top shelf combination, benchmark warranty and proven applications then you will probably look to Keith Eickert at 386-446-0660 who is located just north of Daytona, FL.

Tommy @ Cheif Engines.
Was out in one of his customers boats a couple of weekends ago41 Apache with 900 HP blower motors. They ran flawlessly idled all day long no fouled spark plugs or sooty transom. He would be my choice.

I would Agree with Tommy from Chief, he is always willing to assist and his product speaks for itself.

Bruce Wolff in Baroda, Michigan (Woffes Competition Engines) is a good guy as well and has quite a few running in the Lake Michigan and Chicago area.

Doug Lewis builds some exotic fuel injected, computer controlled OR blown engines. Just check out the motors in "On the Prowl" at the SkaterFest. They speak for themselves! (732) 477-7037.
